Stephi and I are celebrating the „Oktoberfest“ in the 3rd round of our one piece challange. This time we don’t have the same Dirndl, but we style up the Dirndl we have in our closet. Stephi has a luxurious piece, mine is low budget. Is my Dirndl good enough to compete with Stephi’s? Let’s see!
Fesche Wiesn Gaudi mit Dirndl
The Oktoberfest, or how a bavarian would say d’Wiesn, is the greatest folkfestival in the world. Every year it is visited by more than 6 million people! It’s all about having fun, drinking beer in Maß and eat good (Weißwurscht, Brathendl, Schweinshaxe and Apfelstrudel – mhhhhh… ). It is organized on the Theresienwiese in Munich. Well known prominents like Kim Kardashian or Hayden Panettiere were also seen there. And all of them were wearing beautiful Dirndl – a traditional bavarian costume.
I love folk costumes, so I’ve seen many, especially those from Poland or South America (because there I have family). However, hardly any of this costumes I’ve seen are as perfect as the Dirndl. In my opinion it is the dress in the world, that makes every woman on this planet a beautiful neckline (no matter how big or small the buste is) and forms a perfect silhouette, no matter what size.
These days you can get various styles of a Drindl: a short, sexy and funny one, or a classic floorlength. Mine is medium and I like this length the most.
My bow – I am the landlady of this online fatshion cafe, so I tied it on my back. If you’re in a relationship, tie it on your right side and if you’re single, tie it on the left – „Schleife links, Glück bringt’s!“. You can tie it also on the front, this will show you’re a virgin.
Hair & Makeup
If you want to have an appropriate hairstyle for this traditional look, then you do it just right with a braid! You can do waves and use the braid as a headband or you can do it as I did it! For more inspirations, go to Pinterest and search for braided hair ;)
The two key elements of my makeup are the Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow in Rose Charmeuse #854 and the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in L’Éclatante #42. Both products are from the 2013 spring editions! Click here for a Instagram-shot.
I’m a little bit sad, that I can’t be in Munich for the Oktoberfest! I love the the dresses, the Volksmusik, as I mentioned before the awesome cracking meals and of course Munich! If I was a rich girl, I would definitely move there.
So, now I want to know from you: how do you like my style? Let me know it!
